Sacred Dance and Meditative Movement $35

Service Description

Join us in a joyful, movement filled workshop of sacred dance. The movement of prayerful dance can open the door to meditation and celebration. In dance and artistic physical expression we discover rejuvenation of our spirits and connection to our inner wisdom. We will gather under the direction and encouragement of Jane Rickenbaugh, an experienced dancer, choreographer, and former president of the Sacred Dance Guild, who will guide us in exploring the sacred that is within us. Jane will provide instruction and context, group and guided movements, spiritual improvisation, and opportunities for journaling and sharing. There will be no mirrors on the walls of this studio but rather we will endeavor to reflect the divine in our midst. All levels of skill, confidence, and curiosity are welcome. All body types and genders are celebrated. Jane holds an MA in Dance from Reed College and a Certificate in Spiritual Dance from Trinity Episcopal. She has taught dance in many contexts including, spiritual dance at Trinity, modern dance and ballet at Clackamas Community College, dance at Marylhurst University and Mt Angel Abbey. We will be in good hands. We will gather on Saturday morning, October 21, from 11am to 1pm at the Franciscan Spiritual Center on the former Marylhurst University. This class is offered on a sliding scale fee (with options at $25, $35, or $50).
