Service Description
As Franciscans, we continue to be inspired by a poor man from Assisi who lived and died 800 years ago. This winter I invite you to get to know another poor man from Hèrineil, who lived and died more than 300 years ago. In the beautifully translated book by Carmen Acevedo Butcher, we meet Nicolas Herman who became Brother Lawrence of the Resurrection. This discalced (shoeless) Carmelite friar penned a book that offers guidance for anyone seeking a deeper spiritual relationship. In “Practice of the Presence”, we learn “everything is possible for those who believe, even more so for those who hope, still more for those who love, and most of all for those who practice and preserver in these three powerful paths.” Join us for this eight week book study. Practice in Presence Facilitated by Terry Cappiello $80 Begins January 11, 2027 6:30–8:00 PM PDT Min 6/Max 12 We meet via Zoom.
