Service Description

Supervision Groups are supportive and confidential spaces for spiritual directors to receive supervision for their ongoing spiritual direction practices. These groups are facilitated by a trained supervisor. The dynamic of the group invites peer input and prayerful support. The specific dates, agenda, and organization of the individual sessions are organized by the supervisor with input from group members. One of the primary purposes for supervision includes providing a safe and regular gathering where spiritual directors may proactively address issues that may arise in their individual spiritual direction relationships. Spiritual directors form Supervision Groups (and keep coming back to them) in order to experientially learn that we are not alone in our vocations. We are not alone in the things we may see as our gifts, flaws, and shortcomings. A Supervision Group forms a community, which allows us to extend our authentic, vulnerable selves into our spiritual direction relationships. When our goal is authenticity, openness, and vulnerability in our presence and our listening (to another and to the Holy Spirit), we need a sacred community of peers to support us. Being in ongoing supervision is considered a fundamental criteria for any spiritual director and is consistent with the ethical guidelines of Spiritual Directors International (SDI). Each group is small. We aim to have between 4-6 participants per group. Each group meets monthly. Each group meets for 1.5 hours. Participants take turns presenting. Confidentiality is maintained. Having continuity of participation by group members is important for the functioning and prayerful support of the group. So, we encourage participants to commit to each session whether or not they are presenting. **NOTE: This group is reserved for returning participants. Hosted via ZOOM. Nine sessions September 2024 – June 2025. Cost: $360 for 9 session series. (An alternative payment schedule is provided below for those needing to pay in two installments.) **NOTE: This group sets its monthly dates on different dates of the month. Will be determined by group and supervisor.
