A community of retreatants gathered at the Franciscan Spiritual Center in February and March to explore the transformative potency of these times. Together we discerned our potential roles and commitments in moving forward with intentionality for the greater good during chaotic times. As a result of our rich and aspirational time together, many asked for a continued forum in which to deepen our inquiry and sustain our intentionality through mutual support. We share your longing for more! This summer we will gather on three Saturday mornings for continued exploration and support. Jack Kennedy, Mark Lesniewski and Karen Beal are excited to convene us for shared reflection on topics that retreatants raised as being important to them. We will meet at the Franciscan Center on the Saturday mornings of June 24, July 22, and August 19 from 10am to 12:30pm. The first session will focus on the experience of being a “disbelonger” as we traverse the between times. Topics for subsequent gatherings will emerge from the group. Some ideas already mentioned were: grieving what we’re leaving behind; staying aligned with our commitments, vows and intentions; and, exploring how change happens in the emergent paradigm. Our facilitators will lead spiritual practice and share resources, while providing ample time for the group to explore feelings and share experiences, wisdom and support. We all have a light that illuminates the path. Thus, we will teach each other and together traverse the journey towards a more equitable world. This summer series is offered to those who attended one or both retreat sessions. And, if a friend wants to join, with whom you can share our earlier materials, then they are welcome too. If you can only attend one or two of the gatherings, please let us know. However, consistent attendance will help us to cultivate a trusted community of sharing and guidance.
