Designing a Meditative Art or Writing Space
Have you longed for a place where you could have peace, quiet and the room to work on your art or writing? Do you think that you don’t have space for a studio or just need some creative ideas for how to begin? Join this on-line class as we discover ways to make the vision of a home studio a reality. We’ll explore possibilities for creating a small space up to a size where you could share your space with others. All you need to bring is paper/pencil, questions and visions.

Universal Christ Book Study
What difference does it make in our world that “Christ” is not Jesus’ last name? Does an understanding of “God everywhere in all things” have any meaning for the 21st Century Pacific Northwest? Franciscan Richard Rohr unpacks his understanding of the implications of these questions his book, “The Universal Christ.” Indeed, he considers the implications so important that he subtitles the guide to his book, “How a forgotten reality can change everything we see, hope for, and believe.” Join our facilitated group study of this book to see where you stand on these issues.

Monthly Taizé Service
If you feel stuck at home and need to get the musical part of your brain working again or need to reinvigorate your spirituality, you might consider joining the live stream Taizé service. The live stream will be on FSC's Facebook page at Taizé prayer where musical phrases are repeated over and over to quiet the mind and heart in order that the song may become prayer. The ebb and flow of chanting and silence is enhanced by a scripture reading and prayer.

As leaders we inevitably bump up against ways of being that limit our capacities to show up fully in our life and work. Oftentimes we end up doubling down on ways of operating that end up sabotaging the very work that we love. When we find ourselves at these breaking points, we have a decision – to further tumble into burn out and a sense of brokenness or to claim the hero’s journey of allowing what is before us to transform us.

Earth Our Original Monastery
Beginning in October and using Christine Valters Paintner's newest book, Earth, Our Original Monastery, Cultivation Wonder and Gratitude through Intimacy with Nature, we will meet for 2 hours each month to prayerfully experience and discuss one of the chapters in this amazing resource. We will us an array of experiences that may include: visio divina, sacred poetry or journal writing, meditative walking or dance, visual expressions of the arts, SoulCollage®, finger labyrinths, creative photography, & meditation.

On a Bead and a Prayer
“On a Bead and a Prayer” is a once a month opportunity for people of any faith to join us in sharing a common interest in praying on beads. Whether your beads are called rosary, mala, chokti, or any other name of beads that you use to pray, we invite you to come join us in a welcoming, interfaith Zoom forum to share with others your enthusiasm and knowledge around praying with beads and living the devoted prayer life in general.
Intro to Centering Prayer
. The method of Centering is introduced and discussed and then a practice session follows. The 3rd part focuses on sharing the experience as practiced and discussing different issues that came up for each individual followed by another practice session and then closes with focus on deepening our relationship to the Divine.

Saint Hildegard of Bingen – born in 1098 – was a German Benedictine abbess, artist, writer, composer, philosopher, historian, Christian mystic, and visionary. Hildegard was one of the most gifted and prolific spiritual artists of all times. Her music is still being recorded and her art has become iconic. Join us as we explore her writing, art and music. Saint Hildegard’s creative work is truly an inspiration. All you need to bring to this online class is a journal/pen/markers.

It is time to put our gardens to bed, but you can still design a beautiful winter garden with color, statuary and light. With a little creative effort, you can turn a small or large space into an artistic, meditative garden that will lift your spirits through the long, dark winter months. Join us as we explore winter gardening. Please bring a journal/pen to this online class.
Workshops: Advent Quiet Day
Christmas, the most important holiday to St Francis, is a time to welcome the love of God, who comes to us as a baby. The season of Advent is a time to prepare our hearts for this incredible gift. Please join us for a quiet morning to settle into a receptive space where we may be blessed, held or surprised. Prompts will be given for the times of prayer, meditation and sharing. You may wish to have a copy ofLarry’s book, The Living Nativity, as a companion for the season.
Workshops: It’s Never Too Late to Recreate Your Life
As we begin the new year, this class will guide us in reflecting on the areas of our lives where we would like to make changes. Have you felt that you could live more fully into your calling or that you are not leading the life you were meant to live. We’ll take a look at ways we can change our paths and recreate our lives. God calls us to live authentic and spiritually fulfilling lives. It’s never to late to make a change. All you need for this class is a journal/pen and an openness to transformation.
