Modern and Medieval Mystics

We will begin our exploration of the mystics with the paradox of Mother Teresa's long term experinece of interior darkness at the same time that she carried the light of Christ into the slums of India. Participants may want to read Mother Teresa: Come Be My Light, the Private Writings of the 'Saint of Calcutta.' Through prayer, reflection, discussion, reading and some simple writing exercises, we will seek a deeper understanding of our own faith out of our encounter with the mystic.
