- Where can you go to celebrate life?
- Where can you have a ritual of remembrance?
- Where can you find a needed peaceful moment?
- Where can you learn about the journey of life and where you are in the process?
- The labyrinth can assist you with these questions.
Since early times in the Christian tradition, the labyrinth has served as a pilgrim's journey to the center of one's soul. Sister Mary Jo Chaves is a certified Veriditas Labyrinth Facilitator. She often takes the Center's portable indoor Petite Chartres labyrinth to sites where groups participate in a labyrinth walk/retreat/workshop. The labyrinth designed into the carpet at our new site on SE Lake Road will be open for walks on a daily basis and available for workshops and retreats at the Center.
Look under Retreats for an introduction to the Labyrinth on Oct. 18, "Encircling Love, Grace, Peace: An Introduction to the Labyrinth".
"In this difficult period of finding a new career, I have been changed by walking the labyrinth. I am learning to pay attention to my path, and now realize that I am both a teacher and a researcher. The labyrinth has lead to a new closeness to God. I feel in touch with God, experience a sense of well-being, and feel that all parts of my life are being integrated."
