A GUIDED RETREAT 

A directed retreat is an opportunity to leave the busyness and obligations of everyday life in order to spend some quiet time with God. It is a time to reflect on our spiritual journeys. Whether we are simply in need of rest and renewal, have a decision with which to pray, or desire to go deeper in our spiritual lives, a directed retreat can provide time to be alone with God in a quiet and nurturing environment.  

What happens on an individually directed retreat?
The peaceful, quiet atmosphere of the retreat will allow you to develop your own daily rhythm of prayer, reflection, and relaxation. Each day you will meet with a spiritual director and discuss with her what is happening as you seek to open yourself to God. A director often offers Scripture or other material and suggestions for the following day’s prayer.

What is the goal of the retreat?
There are no preconceived goals or expectations regarding a retreatant’s prayer. We enter the retreat trusting that when we make the space and quiet for God, our relationships with God will deepen and grow. If you are coming to the retreat to focus on discerning God’s presence and call in a particular issue of your life, your director will be happy to help in this process.

What is available for those making this directed retreat?
Private room and bath.
Meals and snacks.
Daily Spiritual Direction
Eucharist at Christ the King Parish
Communal gatherings for faith sharing around Scripture
Prayerful spaces around the Center, including a chapel.
